Indian sitting in Dubai gets angry at Indian media
About 40-45 lakh Indians live in UAE, out of which lakhs are in Dubai only. In a video viral on social media, an Indian youth says that ‘Indian channels are running news of bomb blasts and missile attacks in the name of breaking, whereas the ground reality is not the same.’ He says that when his family sitting in India sees such news and due to some reason they are not able to get in touch, they get worried, because in many offices there is no mobile allowance or there is a network problem somewhere, so the media has no idea what would happen to the family members if there is no contact.
‘Don’t turn news into a circus’
In another video, an Indian says that the job of media is to give correct and verified information, not to spread fear and drama. He said, after hearing claims like ‘explosion in Marina, outcry in Abu Dhabi’, calls are being received continuously from India, come back. If the situation had been so bad, a clear alert would have come from the government and normal activities would have stopped in the city, but this is not the case at all and everything is going well here. The government is taking care of the people and everything is normal.
‘Don’t panic due to news, we are safe’
A female user also shared the video and said that it is normal in Dubai and UAE. He appealed to the families present in India not to immediately believe every breaking news seen on social media or TV. He raised the question that if the missile attack had actually taken place, would everything have continued normal there? He said, ‘Don’t panic because you don’t know from which source the media is publishing news without doing any research.’
