Sultanpur (UP), Sep 19 (PTI) The hearing in a 2021 model code of conduct violation case against Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh and 11 others was on Saturday deferred to September 25 due to a boycott by lawyers.
Advocate Rudra Pratap Singh Madan, representing Singh, said MP-MLA special court magistrate Shubham Verma fixed the next date for recording defence evidence.
The case relates to alleged violation of the model code of conduct during the 2021 three-tier panchayat elections. Singh and others are accused of holding a public meeting without permission at Hasanpur village under the Bandhua Kala police station area on April 13, 2021.
The then station house officer of Bandhua Kala police station, Praveen Kumar, had registered the case against Singh and others.
After the prosecution completed its evidence, the court had fixed the date for recording the statements of Singh and the other accused.
