A 16-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by two people in Mathura. Police have registered a case under BNS Section 64 and POCSO Act. Police teams have been formed to arrest the accused.
Mathura district police has registered a case against two people. He is accused of kidnapping and raping a 16 year old girl. The incident took place at around 6:30 pm on Friday evening in a forested area of a village. This student studying in class 12 had gone with her younger brother. According to the police, the girl had gone a little further to defecate. Then one of the accused stopped her, dragged her to a nearby field and raped her. It is alleged that after this another youth also came there and raped her. When the girl tried to run away, the accused tied her legs. Seeing a villager coming nearby, both of them ran away from there.
Victim’s statement and police action
The victim somehow freed herself and returned home in a dejected state. The next day he narrated the entire ordeal to his mother. After this the family contacted the police on Sunday. Mathura SP (Rural) Suresh Chandra Rawat confirmed that a case has been registered under section 64 (rape) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and relevant sections of the POCSO Act.
Rawat said, “The girl’s medical examination has been conducted and her statement will be recorded as part of the investigation. Police teams have been deployed to trace and arrest the accused.”
As per the directions of the Supreme Court, the identity of the victim is not revealed in sexual harassment cases. Police say that efforts are on to nab the accused and ensure action as soon as possible.
