New Delhi: A massive fire broke out at KOSMOS Hospital in Anand Vihar, Delhi. The incident took place in the afternoon, causing significant chaos among the hospital staff and patients. The reports indicate that the fire was caused by a short circuit, which was triggered by the bursting of multiple oxygen cylinders.
The Delhi Fire Brigade evacuated the patients by breaking the hospital’s glass windows. The department stated that they quickly removed the remaining oxygen cylinders. So far, there has been a report of the death of a housekeeping staff member, identified as Amit, who suffocated inside a storeroom during the incident.
Locals said that there was explosion of two to three oxygen cylinders. Four people were rendered unconscious due to smoke inhalation. In response, patients were evacuated to Pushpanjali Hospital. Three fire tenders and rescue teams are on site working to bring the situation under control.
