It is believed that whoever keeps a fast on this day and recites the fast story of Shivaratri, there is immense grace of Mahadev on it. In such a situation, let’s read the fast story of monthly Shivaratri.

Monthly Shivaratri fast story

According to the legend of monthly Shivaratri, in ancient times there was a hunter named Chitrabhanu who used to take away his family by hunting animals. Once he took a loan from a moneylender, but he could not repay the loan on time. The angry moneylender took him captive in Shiva monastery. Incidentally, Shivaratri was on that day and the hunter heard the story of Shivaratri fast in the same Shiva monastery. Incidentally, he got out of the monastery.

Then when the hunter was in the forest at night, he climbed a bell tree and spent the night. A Shivling was installed under that tree. The hunter did not sleep overnight and inadvertently, he broke the bell letter and kept falling on the Shivling. In this way, he unknowingly observed Shivaratri fast.

In the first time of the night, a pregnant deer came to drink water. When the hunter tried to hunt her, Hirani prayed to her to give her birth to her children, then she would come back. Hearing this, the hunter let him go. Similarly, two more deer came in the second and third watch and the hunter also let them go.

When the hunter returned from the forest in the morning, he saw that an entire family of deer was standing in front of him. Seeing this, the hunter’s heart melted and let them all go. After this incident, the hunter’s heart changed and he stopped hunting. It is believed that after this incident, Lord Shiva appeared to the hunter and he attained salvation.

Religious belief is that if someone inadvertently observes Shivaratri fast, then he gets the grace of Lord Shiva and all his sufferings are removed.
