According to the Panchang, the Chaturdashi date of Krishna Paksha of Chaitra month will start at 09:23 am on March 17. This date will end at 08:25 am on March 18, 2026. Since worshiping Lord Shiva at night is considered more fruitful, worshiping Shiva at night on this day has special significance.

Chaitra Monthly Shivratri Puja Method
On the day of monthly Shivratri, devotees observe a fast to please Lord Shiva and worship as per rituals.
- Take a pledge to worship Lord Shiva in your home temple or Shiva temple.
- Anoint Shivling with water, milk, curd, honey and Ganga water.
- After this, offer Belpatra, Dhatura, Aak flower and white sandalwood.
- Offer cannabis, fruits and sweets to Lord Shiva.
- Chant Om Namah Shivay mantra and recite Shiva Chalisa.
- At night during Nishita period, anoint Shivalinga again and perform aarti.
