According to the Panchang, Krishna Paksha Ashtami Tithi of Vaishakh month is starting on April 9 at 9.19 pm, while it will end on April 10 at 11.15 am. Based on Udaya Tithi, this fast will be observed on 9th April only.

Many auspicious yogas are being formed for worship on this day, which make fasting and worship even more fruitful.
- Brahma Muhurta: Will be from 4:38 am to 5:26 am.
- Amrit Kaal: From 6:07 am to 7:54 am.

Monthly Krishna Janmashtami puja method
Devotees observing fast on this day should wake up early in the morning, take bath and wear clean clothes. After this, clean the temple or place of worship in the house and install the idol or picture of Lord Krishna. Bathe the Lord with Panchamrit and offer him yellow clothes, flowers, Tulsi leaves and butter-mishri. Chant Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya mantra during the puja. The child form of Shri Krishna is especially worshiped at night. Perform bhajan-kirtan and at the end perform aarti and distribute prasad. The fast is broken the next day after the end of Ashtami Tithi.
