Maruti WagonR Flex Fuel Launched at Rs 7.24 Lakh – Full Details

Maruti Suzuki has officially announced the price of the Wagon R Flex Fuel hatchback for the Indian market. Based on the top-end ZXi+ manual trim, the bioflex model has been priced at Rs 7.24 lakh. For comparison, the standard WagonR ZX+ MT version is available at Rs 6.38 lakh for the monotone variant and Rs 6.49 lakh for the dual-tone variant. The Maruti WagonR flex fuel is nearly Rs 86,000 more expensive than its petrol-powered counterpart.

It’s important to note that the WagonR bioflex will be available only for the commercial and fleet operators, and will not be sold to private buyers.

The Maruti WagonR flex fuel features a 1.2L, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which has been modified to run on up to 85 percent ethanol blended fuel. Maruti Suzuki has upgraded the fuel injectors and fuel pump, recalibrated the ECU (engine control unit) and integrated new fuel lines and an ethanol sensor.

The power and torque outputs of the flex fuel powertrain are yet to be revealed. In its standard form, the 1.2L NA petrol engine produces a maximum power of 91bhp and 114Nm of torque. It’s available with both manual and AMT gearbox, delivering a claimed mileage of 23.56kmpl and 24.43kmpl, respectively.

On the exterior, the Maruti Wagon R Bioflex features ‘Flex Fuel’ decals on the side profile and a ‘Bioflex’ badge on the tailgate. Inside, it offers a dual-tone black and beige interior theme with fabric upholstery. Other key features include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, electronic stability control, six airbags and more.
