Maruti Suzuki Dzire Facelift- What To Expect?

Even in the SUV-dominated market, Dzire has been doing very well. With more than 2 lakh units being sold, the Dzire proved that the sedan market is not over just yet. But with the evolving market like India, Dzire still misses out on something. And to fix that, Maruti could bring an update. Here is everything you need to know about the Maruti Suzuki Facelift-

In 2024, Maruti introduced a major update to the Dzire lineup, not limited to cosmetic changes, but also introducing a different engine. And this facelift has not only boosted Maruti’s sales but also made the Dzire India’s best-selling passenger vehicle. What could make it even better? Let’s figure out-

Looks-

With the latest update, the Dzire features a sharper look that is distinct from the previous generation. These newer looks are expected to carry over to the next Dzire facelift as well, with some minor revisions. We can expect minor revisions to the front grille, headlamps, and bumpers. What else?

Interior & Features-

Given the competition, major upgrades are expected to the Dzire facelift’s interiors. The infotainment screen could be larger and include additional features. Maruti could also bring some features from the Nexa product into this update, including an autodimming IRVM and a head-up display. Other features, such as an electric sunroof, 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, and more, are expected to carry over from the current generation. Another interesting fact is that in the Philippines, Suzuki also offers the Dzire hybrid. Following the Hybrid trend in India, we can expect Maruti to introduce this mild-hybrid tech to the Dzire lineup.

Maruti’s HEARTECT platform brought in the biggest leap with the latest update on the Dzire. The 4th-generation Dzire became the first-ever Maruti to secure a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP. With the next update, Maruti can take this one step ahead by introducing an ADAS system.

Powertrain-

With the update, Maruti reduced the number of cylinders in the Dzire’s engine. After the initial backlash, Indian consumers began to appreciate the fuel-efficient Z-series 1.2-litre petrol engine. This engine, in the pure petrol variant, will produce about 82 bhp and 112 Nm of torque, while the CNG variant will produce about 70 bhp and 102 Nm of torque. Claiming the highest mileage in the segment of about 24.79kmpl to 25.71kmpl for the petrol variants and 33.73km/kg for the CNG variants. Paired with the 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox option. This engine, along with the gearbox option, is expected to remain the same in the next update, but the much-anticipated technology could be introduced. Yes, we are talking about the dual-cylinder under-body CNG. Thanks to the HEARTECT platform.

Rivals-

We have to admit that the massive 2 lakh-plus sales figure reflects combined sales across the personal and fleet segments. That being said, the only direct rival to the Dzire is the Hyundai Aura. But if you’re looking for something more premium and feature-loaded, then you have the choice of the Tata Tigor and Honda Elevate.

Expected Launch & Pricing-

Maruti hasn’t made any statement about the launch of the Dzire facelift. But considering they have been planning to introduce the underbody CNG tech across many of their models, we can expect the Dzire facelift by mid 2027. Alongside this addition of technology, we might expect a slight price hike to the Dzire facelift as well. Currently, the Dzire is priced between Rs 7.37 lakh and Rs 10.89 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), and we expect a price hike of about Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000. What do you think about these updates?
