Maruti Suzuki has made price hikes in its Arena and Nexa model lineups. In its recent revisions, prices have been hiked from as little as INR 2,500 in some models in the entry-level range to as much as INR 30,000 in Baleno model cars. According to industry analysts, the increasing price of memory chips will play a vital role in price hikes in the coming years.
Models in the Arena lineup include Alto K10, S-Presso, Celerio, and Carry mini-trucks, which have seen a price hike of up to INR 2,500. Swift model has got a price hike of INR 5,000, while the Dzire and Tour S models have been hiked in price by INR 5,000-7,000.
Ertiga gets an INR 5,000-7,500 hike, while the Brezza facelift that was recently launched will now cost INR 5,000 more. The highest hike has been seen in the price of the Victoris SUV that goes up by as much as INR 10,000.
In the case of Nexa cars, Baleno gets the highest price increase of up to INR 30,000 before the hatchback facelift slated for launch on September 5th.
Fronx, which is 11% of the cars exported from India in Q2 CY2026 and the most-exported passenger vehicle in the country, has become more expensive by INR 7,500. On the other hand, eVitara electric SUV, which is the second-highest increase in price in the Nexa portfolio, has seen its price go up by INR 20,000.
Hyundai Increases Prices From September This Year
Motor India Ltd. has hiked prices up to 1% for the entire range of its passenger cars, becoming the second price hike announcement by the company this year. The hike in prices will become effective from September 2026 and the vehicles which have been affected include Grand i10 Nios, i20, Exter, Venue, Creta, Verna, Alcazar, Tucson, and also the range of Electric Vehicles (EVs) by the carmaker.
The company has informed that the 1% increase is the maximum and not all the models will face this much increment. For example, an increase in the price of a Hyundai priced INR 10 lakh may increase up to INR 10,000 whereas that of an INR 20 lakh Hyundai model may rise up to INR 20,000.
