Singrauli (Madhya Pradesh): A woman died in the forests of Singrauli under suspicious circumstances. Her husband accompanying her on motorcycle reported it as an accident, but the woman’s family alleged foul play.
The incident unfolded in the forest of Dhohni road under Sarai police station of Singrauli district. The woman identified as Riya Rai was travelling back to Barka in Singrauli from Indore along with her husband, Dilip Jaiswal.
On Sunday night, the woman was found in a fatal state and Dilip sustained minor injuries. According to Dilip they met with an accident.
According to Sarai police station in-charge Jitendra Singh Bhadauria, preliminary investigation suggested the deceased’s husband, Dilip has no major injury, while Riya has marks of strangulation and nails on her neck. There is an injury on the head due to hitting it with a heavy object.
Relationship history
Riya and Dilip were in a love relationship since 2019. Riya had earlier filed a rape case against Dilip, leading to his three-month imprisonment. Later, she helped him grant a bail. After Dilip came out of jail, both of them got court marriage in Jabalpur on 28 September 2019, since then both were living together.
A month ago, Riya went to Indore with Dilip to her brother’s place. They left Indore for their village Barka on July 4.
Family alleges conspiracy
Riya’s mother alleges that Riya daughter was murdered by her husband Dilip. “First he trapped my daughter in love, then married her, and later began abusing her under the influence of alcohol. When she resisted, he killed her,” she said.
According to Ria’s brother, Dilip used to harass Ria regularly and attempted to make Ria isolate from her family while they were in Indore. Furthermore, Dilip’s family also insisted him a lot to part ways with Riya. Domestic disputes were quite common between the couple.
The family members revealed, that the last conversation they had with Riya was on 6th July, they were scheduled to reach Singrauli by 11:12 pm. But at 11:30 PM the family received a call from Dilip, in which he claimed that they met with an accident.
The family firmly believes that the claim of accident is purely conspiracy. Ria’s brother said, “My sister has been killed, On Monday, my sister had to join the school as a guest teacher, that is why both of them had left from Indore”.
The postmortem was conducted by a team of doctors this morning. SDOP Chitrangi along with FSL officials are investigating the case at the spot.
