‘Marriage promise, 15-year-old relationship’: What note in Noida murder-suicide case reveals

Noida: In a shocking incident, a couple was found dead inside a parked car with gunshot wounds in Noida. The incident was a stark reminder of a recent Peeragarhi incident in the national capital in which three people were found dead. An oculist was later arrested in the case on charges of murder.

It might be the case of murder-suicide: Police

Sharing details of the Noida incident, the police said that the circumstances of the incident suggested that it might be a murder-suicide case since the car was locked from the inside. A note was also recovered inside the car, suggesting that the romantic relationship between the two might have gone wrong.

The car with bodies was found near pillar number 84 under Sector 39 police station on Dadri Road. The police arrived at the scene after being informed of the parked car. After opening the door of the car, they found gunshots on their forehead. “A pistol was found in the boy’s hand, and the car was locked from the inside. Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide,” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida) Manisha Singh said.

The man might have first shot the woman dead and then killed himself. Soon after, a forensic team too reached the spot. An inquest report was prepared both bodies were then sent for the post-mortem.

Note found on the site

The note left behind by the man said that the two had been dating for 15 years. While the woman had promised to marry him, he later found out that she was to marry somebody else. This might have increased tensions between the two. A per the police, the man was 31-year-old and was a resident of Trilokpuri in Delhi. The woman used to stay in Noida’s Sector 101. Families of both the deceased have been informed. The couple was missing from their homes since last Friday.
