A doctor couple from Pune had an affair. Both of them had a love marriage and within just 24 hours of marriage, both of them got divorced. They had a fight the morning after the second day of their marriage and decided to live separately.
The interesting aspect of this couple’s divorce within 24 hours of their marriage is that after completing the legal process, they got the divorce in just 8 days. Pune Family Court Judge BD Kadam announced this important result.
What is the matter?
The divorced couple belongs to a respectable section of the society. The husband works in a senior position on a ship, while the wife is a doctor by profession. Both of them met each other many years ago. There was an affair between them. Love blossomed and they decided to get married. Both got married. His family and relatives attended this wedding ceremony.
There was a fight between the two the next morning after the wedding. The fight escalated so much that the girl left the house. Both of them decided to live separately. The matter reached the court. He spoke to a lawyer and filed a divorce petition in the court.

On December 3, lawyer Rani Kamble-Sonawane had applied for divorce by mutual consent. Normally a waiting period of six months is mandatory for divorce, but as per Supreme Court rules, this period can be relaxed if the spouses have been separated for more than 18 months. The court approved the divorce on December 10 as the couple had been living separately for one and a half years and the husband needed to go abroad urgently for work.
Ideological differences to the extreme
During the separation, both their families tried to pacify them and rebuild their lives. However, they refused to reunite due to ideological differences. Ultimately, they decided that the only option was to end the relationship legally. In the background of increasing divorce, this leakage happening in a prosperous world due to small reasons is becoming a matter of concern at present.
