The industrial, tourism and craft capabilities of both the states will be discussed in the MP-UP Cooperation Conference 2026 held in Varanasi. In the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, several MoUs will be signed to promote investment and tourism.
Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will present the industrial capabilities, traditional crafts, ODOP and GI tagged products, agricultural and food products, investment opportunities and tourism possibilities of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh on a common platform in the “MP-UP Cooperation Conference 2026” organized in Varanasi. In this conference, the major strengths of both the states will come together and a focused dialogue will be established on various dimensions related to production, market and identity. The conference will bring together stakeholders from industry, crafts, investment and tourism, where there will be a clear format of discussion on practical cooperation, market expansion and joint initiatives.
Tour of Kashi Vishwanath Corridor
- Chief Minister Dr. Yadav’s visit to Varanasi will be accompanied by a study tour of Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, where the crowd flow management, infrastructure layout and pilgrim management arrangements developed in the pilgrimage area will be observed. This experience will become the basis for understanding the systematic development and modern management system of religious tourist places. After this, the exhibition will be visited at the venue of MP-UP Cooperation Conference, in which ODOP products, GI tagged handicrafts, traditional textiles, industrial capabilities and tourism possibilities of Madhya Pradesh will be displayed. This exhibition will serve to directly connect investors and participants by presenting the economic and cultural diversity of the state on a single platform. The main session of the conference will focus on investment, industrial cooperation and ODOP based economy, where Madhya Pradesh’s investment-friendly policies, infrastructure and incentive mechanism will be presented.
- In the same session, MoU will be signed between Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, which will formalize cooperation in industrial investment, skill development, handicraft promotion and tourism sectors. Exchange of ODOP products will emerge as an important initiative towards providing wider market to local products. The afternoon networking session will facilitate dialogue between industry, investors and policy-makers, sparking potential investments and partnerships and linking the conference to real business opportunities. The practical dimensions of cooperation will be elaborated upon in parallel sessions. In the joint craft workshop, Chanderi and Maheshwari craftsmen of Madhya Pradesh will work with Banarasi silk artisans of Uttar Pradesh on joint branding, market expansion and the concept of ‘Ganga-Narmada Craft Corridor’, which will be a concrete initiative towards taking the traditional craft to new markets.

The tourism round table will discuss developing a joint religious tourism circuit connecting Varanasi, Ujjain and Chitrakoot. In this process, with the participation of key stakeholders including Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, a consensus will be reached towards giving an organized and expanded form to tourism.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav will also inspect the venue of Mahanatya Vikramotsav to be held from 3rd to 5th April at BLW Ground in Varanasi.
