Actress and former Miss World Manushi Chhillar has extended her support to students protesting over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, drawing from her own experience as a medical aspirant. Before entering the entertainment industry, Manushi cleared the medical entrance examination and secured admission to Bhagat Phool Singh Medical College in Sonipat. In a heartfelt note shared on Instagram, she revealed that she had to take the exam twice in 2015 because of a paper leak, describing the experience as emotionally exhausting. She also said that a decade later, students deserve better.

Sharing her personal experience, Manushi said she understands the emotional and mental burden students face when an examination is compromised. She revealed that she had to appear for the medical entrance exam twice in 2015 due to a paper leak and said the experience left a lasting impact on her. According to the actress, asking students to “just write it again” ignores the years of preparation, sacrifices and dreams attached to such competitive examinations.
Reflecting on that period, she wrote, “I’ve written it, twice in 2015 due to a paper leak then as well.” Manushi added that while students accepted the system’s shortcomings and moved forward at the time and added, “We then accepted the failure in our system and made peace with the solution provided. Now, a decade later, we expect change.”

The actress stressed that education remains one of the strongest tools for social mobility and that students deserve a fair opportunity to pursue their ambitions. She recalled meeting aspirants from diverse backgrounds during her preparation, including families who had made enormous financial sacrifices to support their children’s dreams of becoming doctors.

Manushi also talked about the frustration of losing valuable years due to circumstances beyond one’s control, recalling the COVID pandemic. She said those experiences strengthened her belief that education has the power to transform lives. According to her, students invest years of hard work, sleepless nights and unwavering dedication into preparing for examinations like NEET, making it insensitive to dismiss their concerns with simplistic solutions.
While supporting the ongoing protests, Manushi said that demanding reforms should not be viewed as criticism of the country or its institutions. Instead, she said such demands reflect faith that the system can improve and become stronger for future generations.
She wrote, “Every generation has a responsibility to leave behind a stronger system than the one it inherited.”
The actress also expressed confidence in India’s democratic institutions and said lasting solutions should emerge through dialogue, constitutional processes and mutual respect rather than confrontation. Ending her message, she urged people to respond with compassion and understanding, reminding everyone that the country’s youth represent its future.
Manushi is among several film personalities who have publicly voiced support for students protesting over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak. Earlier , Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Varun Dhawan, Ananya Panday, Rajkummar Rao, Shabana Azmi and Sara Ali Khan also expressed solidarity with the students and called for a fair, transparent examination system.
