Manoj jaranranth haunger strike end: The long -running Maratha reservation movement in Maharashtra has finally taken a new turn. Maratha community leader Manoj Jarang has ended his hunger strike, but many questions and legal screws are still intact with it. The state government has announced to make the process of clan certificate easier for the Marathas and to accept most of the demands of the agitators. However, the government also made it clear that it is not possible to give reservation to all Marathas as it is against the orders of the Supreme Court and the High Court.

Why can’t all Marathas get reservation?

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis clarified that it is not possible to legally give reservation to the entire Maratha community. For this, every person will have to present evidence of a kunbi background. This decision is not only important but also from the legal point of view, as the matter has reached the Supreme Court.

What will be the change in the process of clan certificate?

The state has also announced to implement the Hyderabad Gazette, which has old records to declare the Marathas of Marathwada as a clan. For this, committees will be made at the village level so that the process of issuing certificates can be simplified. Apart from this, there is a preparation to bring government orders on the records of Satara, Aundh and Pune.

What was the decision on the case and compensation filed during the movement?

The government has promised to withdraw all the cases registered on the agitators and compensation to the families of the deceased and give government jobs. The government has released Rs 15 crore in this direction and the remaining payment will be made within a week.

Movement ends, but warning remains

Jarang said that if the government did not implement the promises on time, they will start the movement again. He demanded a personal presence from the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde to eliminate the bitterness arising out of the movement.

Future of Maratha-OBC dispute

This agreement is a big turn in Maharashtra politics. However, the question still remains whether this decision will provide long -term relief to the Maratha community or open a new chapter of dispute. The challenge before the government is to balance the legal process and social justice.
