Priyanka Chopra’s cousin Mannara Chopra lost her father, Raman Rai Handa, on June 16. He was 72 years old. Mannara participated in her father’s final rites along with her sister, Mitali Handa.Other family members, including Priyanka’s brother Siddharth Chopra, were also seen consoling the two sisters. Mannara and Mitali both carried their father’s mortal remains and were seen breaking down as they bid adieu to him. In one of the videos, Mannara is seen insisting on carrying her father’s bier herself.
In another video, Mannara is seen almost fainting as her family members support her. She is seen crying and holding on to her sister as they grieve the loss of their father. Mannara’s mother, Kamini Chopra Handa, is also seen consoling her daughter. Parineeti Chopra’s father, Pawan Chopra, and her brother Sahaj Chopra are seen comforting the grieving family.
Another clip shows a devastated Mannara walking out of the crematorium after performing the last rites of her father. Mitali is seen holding her hand and helping her stay stable as she cries remembering her father.
Mannara had shared an official statement on the demise of her father, which read, “With profound grief and sorrow, we inform the sad demise of our loving father who left us for his heavenly abode on 16/06/2025. He was the pillar of strength for our family.”
Though Priyanka couldn’t attend her uncle’s final rites, she shared her condolences through a message on Instagram. She wrote, “You’ll always be in our hearts. Rest easy Raman uncle (fufaji). Om Shanti.”
Raman Handa worked as a lawyer at the Delhi High Court. He is survived by his wife, Kamini Chopra, and daughters Mannara and Mitali. Kamini is the paternal aunt of Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra.
Mannara Chopra is known for her work in the Telugu and Hindi film industries. She gained fame after participating in Bigg Boss 17, where she emerged as the second runner-up.
