Manipur violence: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit this state for the first time after the ethnic violence started in Manipur in 2023. More than 200 people died and thousands were injured in violence here. PM Modi will go to Manipur on Saturday. For the last 2 years, the opposition has been targeting the PM that he did not go to Manipur burning in the fire of violence. Did not take stock of the situation there. Why is Narendra Modi traveling to Manipur?
Manipur Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel announced that the Prime Minister will inaugurate development projects worth Rs 8500 crore on 13 September. PM Modi will first reach Churachandpur. Here he will interact with the internal displaced people. Goyal said,
According to his commitment to the inclusive, sustainable and overall development of Manipur, Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of several development projects costing more than Rs 7300 crore in Churachandpur. PM’s Manipur visit will open the path of peace, general situation and development in the state.

Churachandpur is one of the most affected areas of ethnic violence. There were clashes here on Thursday two days before the PM’s arrival. Unknown miscreants vandalized and removed the decoration designed for the program.
