The initial share sale was a mix of new equity shares worth ₹8,000 crore and an offer-for-sale (OFS) component of ₹1,275.22 crore by existing shareholders.
Promoters – Manipal Education and Medical Group India Pvt Ltd and Imperius Healthcare Investments Pte Ltd – along with shareholders TPG SG Magazine Pte Ltd, Ammar Sdn Bhd, Novo Holdings Invest Asia, Seventy Second Investment Company LLC and Phoenix Bear Investments LLC, offloaded their stakes through the OFS.
Funds to the tune of ₹5,378 crore from the fresh issue will be utilised towards debt clearance of its subsidiary, Manipal Hospitals. It has kept aside ₹574 crore for acquiring the minority stake in the step-down unit, Sahyadri Hospitals Pvt Ltd. A portion will also be used for general corporate purposes.
With a price band of ₹560 to ₹590 per share, a lot consisted of 25 shares.
Manipal Health Enterprises operates a network of multispecialty hospitals throughout India, offering services ranging from outpatient care to tertiary and quaternary interventions.
