Bahraich: A man got trapped in a cage set up to catch a leopard. This incident in Uttar Pradesh has surprised even the forest department officials. A video of this incident which took place on Thursday night in Bahraich district is now going viral on social media. This trap was set in a village situated on the border of Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary. The trap was laid after the death of a 55-year-old woman named Shanti Devi in a leopard attack on Wednesday evening. A goat was also tied inside the cage as bait for the leopard.
But, a young man named Pradeep from the same village got trapped in the cage set up for the leopard. According to reports, Pradeep himself had entered this cage after drinking alcohol. As soon as the young man went inside the cage, its automatic door closed. With this Pradeep got trapped inside. There are many speculations regarding why Pradeep went inside the cage. Forest department officials suspect that he had gone inside to steal the goat. But Pradeep says that he just went to see how everything was inside, but the door closed and he got stuck inside.
When he realized that he was trapped inside, the young man started shouting for help. He also called the villagers from his mobile. He immediately informed the village head, who then called forest department officials. He came and took the young man out. It is being told that it took two hours to pull him out.
