When the buyer reached out to the seller to report the issue, he was allegedly blocked, leaving him with no way to resolve the problem directly.
With the appliance still unusable, the buyer called a repair technician. Upon opening the dryer, the technician allegedly discovered it was stuffed with cash from top to bottom — explaining the malfunction.
Some versions of the story differ slightly, claiming the buyer himself found the hidden money without any technician involved.
Netizens react
As the video gained traction online, users flooded the comments with a mix of humour, disbelief and curiosity.
One user joked, “I’ll be back, I’m off to search the marketplace,” said one person.
Another commented, “He came out a lot better off than if he had asked for his money back on the car. Good thing that person blocked him. Maybe he’ll see the post on x and realize the mistake he made,” said another.
A third added, “You made a jackpot. Thanks to Facebook Marketplace. My advise to my fellow people out there, Do not try it at home it might not work for you,” a third user said.
Scepticism and questions raised
Not everyone was convinced by the story. Some users questioned why someone would publicly share such a discovery.
One comment read, “I don’t even understand why they someone would post this video ?? Like why?? Get your money and enjoy quietly,” a fourth user said.
Another user pointed out, “Amazing how all those dollar bills somehow made it through tiny slots in the filter that are way too small for a dollar bill to fit through. Definitely not staged for clicks.”
