New Delhi: Manchester City have agreed a deal to bring in Italian keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma on deadline day from European champions Paris Saint-Germain as their first-choice custodian Ederson has consented to move to Turkey’s Fenerbahce.
Donnarumma spent four seasons in Paris and won the Champions League last season but wasn’t willing to sign a new deal and had only a year left on his contract.
Manchester United also approached Donnarumma but City were always the favourite to get the 26-year-old.
Brazilian Ederson departs after eight fruitful seasons in which he helped City win six English Premier League titles, four League Cups, two FA Cups and one Champions League winner’s medal.
City are set to sign him for a fee of €35million (£30.3m), according to The Athletic. Donnarumma becomes the second keeper that City signed within a week after England international James Trafford from Burnley.
The 32-year-old shot stopper Ederson is reported to join Fenerbahce in a deal worth around €14million.
United’s Hojlund moves to Napoli
Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund joined Italian champions Napoli on loan for the 2025/26 season. He made 95 appearances for United after arriving from Atalanta in August 2023 and scored 26 goals.
He helped United win the FA Cup at the end of the 2023/24 season, after coming on as a substitute in the final against Manchester City.
Coached by Antonio Conte, Serie A champions Napoli will be Hojlund’s fifth club, following earlier spells with Copenhagen and Sturm Graz.
Reports suggest Napoli have a buy-in clause worth 44 million euros (38 million pounds) in the deal.
The Denmark international managed to score only four league goals in a difficult 2024-25 campaign at United.
With the arrival of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo in big-money deals to revamp the attack, he was made surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.
Real Betis signed forward Antony from Manchester United for 25 million euros ($29.27 million), with a 50% net sell-on clause in the deal and no pay-off.
The Brazil international made 62 EPL appearances for United, scoring five goals and providing three assists after arriving for 81.3 million euros ($95.18 million) from Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam in 2022.
The 25-year-old had joined Betis on loan in January, scoring nine goals in all competitions.
