KOCHI: Producer Sandra Thomas said megastar Mammootty had called her asking her to withdraw the case filed against the producers (Kerala Film Producers Association).
Sandra also revealed that he withdrew from the film he had committed to when she said that she was not ready for it. Sandra Thomas was speaking in an interview given to a media.
‘Many actors who had worked in my films and others too have sent messages. Most of the messages mentioned about her bravery. The good news is that most of the messages were sent by men. They said that Sandra did something that they could not do. Even mainstream actors sent messages. I am happy to see all that. They are giving me mental support. I am happy about that.
I don’t know if I can say it, but I am saying. Mammootty had personally called me. He asked me not to proceed with the case. We talked for nearly 45 minutes and ended the conversation with Sandra asking Mammootty only one question. Mammookka, if this situation had happened to your daughter, would you tell her to stay silent. Don’t respond, don’t proceed with the case, this will affect me in future, I won’t be able to proceed with the film anymore, these producers won’t allow my film to be released in theatres, so I should keep quiet, I asked if Mammookka would take the same stand. He then asked me to do as per my wish, I will not say anything more. But there was a film he had committed to. He backed out of it. I clearly told him that if everyone is trying to eliminate me, I would still be here. He asked me to understand his situation.
Lalettan has not yet responded on this issue. But those around him have spoken. They have all given their full support. From what those closest to him have spoken, I should understand that he has supported me, right?’ asked Sandra Thomas.
