Makers Eye ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ Season 3 Renewal with Major Changes

The creators behind the popular series ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ are reportedly planning a third season, but with significant alterations.

According to Variety, the upcoming season is expected to introduce a new showrunner, a fresh team of writers, and even new Titans from Legendary’s Monsterverse.

The series first premiered on Apple TV in 2023, with its second season slated for release in February 2026. While the main series undergoes these changes, a spinoff featuring Wyatt Russell as Col. Lee Shaw is also in development. This spinoff will follow Shaw’s mission in 1984 to prevent the Soviets from unleashing a dangerous new Titan.

Originally created by Chris Black and Matt Faction, with Black serving as showrunner for Season 2, the production team also includes executive producers Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell from Safehouse Pictures. Jen Roskind, Matt Shakman, Lawrence Trilling, and Andrew Colville are also executive producers for Season 2. Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita are involved as executive producers on behalf of Toho Co., Ltd., the rights holder for Godzilla.

Joby Harold is set to be the showrunner for the upcoming spinoff series and is actively developing other projects within the expansive Legendary Monsterverse. The cast for the main series features notable actors such as Millie Brady, Pilou Asbaek, Corey Stoll, Ralph Ineson, Nyasha Hatendi, Connie Nielsen, and Stana Katic, alongside Wyatt Russell.
