Guava Papad Recipe
Hearing the name of Aam Papad brings back childhood memories. While coming from school, he used to buy mango papad worth Rs 1 or 2 from the shop and eat it. Which was available in both sour and sweet tastes. Now winters have started and mango season is over, but guava is in season, so try guava papad in winter. Like mango papad, delicious guava papad will also be liked by children and adults in your house. Desserts have their own fun in winter. Guava papad is also a good option to reduce sweet cravings, because if you eat it in limited quantity, it will not harm your health. You will not have to put a lot of effort in making it, because it can be made in hardly 15 to 20 minutes and it does not require too many ingredients, that is, it is a very simple recipe.
In earlier times, guava was eaten roasted and was considered beneficial for cough and sore throat. For now we will know the recipe of guava papad. You can make this papad once and store it for a few days and make winters joyful.
Ingredients of Guava Papad
You will need 500 grams ripe guava, 1 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, half teaspoon red chili powder, 1.2 teaspoon black salt, half teaspoon white salt, 1 teaspoon butter, a few drops of food color (pink). Now let us know the method of making guava papad.
Guava Papad Recipe
- First of all, wash the guava and cut it into two pieces so that you can know whether it is healthy from inside or not.
- Now cook the guava in a pressure cooker with half a cup of water for 2 whistles and then let it cool.
- When the guavas cool down, put them in a grinder and make a smooth puree and filter it through a sieve so that no fibers remain.
- Now add sugar to it and cook on medium flame while stirring continuously till it thickens. At this stage the color of the puree will start changing and it starts appearing slightly transparent.
- When the puree starts becoming a little thick after being cooked completely, then understand that it is ready to be frozen. It is identified when the puree starts separating from the sides of the pan.
- Add black salt, white salt, chilli powder, lemon juice and color to the puree and then cook it for some time so that all these things get mixed well in it.
- When the puree is ready, turn off the gas. Take some butter and grease a smooth plate or tray with it.
- Put the cooked guava puree on a greased tray and spread it a little thick i.e. like a roti with the help of a knife.
- Keep the plate in the fan’s air or let it cool for some time so that the papad gets set properly.
- When the papad is completely set, check by touching it. After this, cut it into strips with the help of a knife and then roll it. In this way your guava papad will be ready.
