Kaliziri is different from any kind of cumin. In English it is called Purple Fleeben, but it is completely different from Kalonji Nigella SATIVA. Kalonji is also called Black Cumin in English. Similarly, Bakchi, or Somaraji is the seeds of another plant, Sorelaa Corylifolia.
Many experts in Ayurveda consider Sorela Korilifolia as Bawchi or Somaraji, but in Bengal, Kaliziri is known and used by the name Somaraji.
Kalizeri is bitter and sharp dirty in taste, so it is not used to make any kind of food. It is used only like a medicine. Its name in Latin is its name, Centrathram Anthhelminticum or Vernonia Anthelminticum.
