Make grains and pulses of cold nature a part of your diet in summers.

Wheat is a grain which has become an important part of Indian food. Wheat rotis are there in the plate in every season, but it is considered more beneficial in summer, because wheat has a cooling nature. Apart from wheat bread, you can eat porridge. Apart from wheat, barley should be made a part of your diet during summer. This grain with cold effect is rich in many nutrients. Roti can be made from barley flour. Apart from this, you can prepare barley sattu and make sherbet out of it. Apart from this, you can soak barley and drink its water which benefits your health in many ways. Barley can be made from Rabri to Khichdi. 
If we talk about cold pulses then moong dal is the best. You can eat it either raw or cooked. Moong sprouts are quite healthy. This can be a best breakfast option especially to fulfill the protein requirement. Apart from this, you can cook and eat moong dal which is considered good for digestion. 
Like moong, urad is also considered to have a cooling effect, so make it a part of your diet in summers. Its dal can be prepared and it can be added to dosa and can also be used in sambar. Dahi vada made from urad dal tastes amazing in summers. However, urad should be eaten in limited quantity, otherwise it can cause problems like gas, acidity.
