Security forces today carried out a major anti-Naxal operation on the Ganjam-Kandhamal border of Odisha. In this action, 6 Naxalites were killed, including Central Committee member and chief of Odisha Naxal organization Ganesh Uike. There was a reward of Rs 1 crore on Ganesh Uike. Many weapons including AK-47, SLR and INSAS rifles were recovered during the encounter.
