Kupwara Encounter: Two suspected infiltrators have reportedly been killed in a brief exchange of fire with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday.
The gunfight took place in the Jumgund area of the Keran sector, near the Line of Control (LoC). Following the encounter, the Army has launched search and combing operations to check for any additional infiltrators in the area.
Suspicious Movement Noted
The encounter began after troops noticed suspicious movement along the LoC in the Jumgund area of the Keran sector. The troops challenged and intercepted the suspected terrorists in the early hours, officials said. However, it is not yet clear whether the incident was linked to an infiltration attempt.
