The first weekend box office battle between Main Vaapas Aaunga and Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata has produced a clear winner. While both films witnessed growth over their opening weekend, Diljit Dosanjh’s emotional drama managed to pull ahead of Kangana Ranaut’s historical thriller at the domestic box office. Backed by positive word of mouth and steady audience turnout, Main Vaapas Aaunga recorded stronger collections on all three days of its opening weekend. Meanwhile, showed encouraging signs of growth but fell short of matching its competitor’s numbers despite promotional efforts, including a nationwide Buy One Get One ticket offer.
Main Vaapas Aaunga Records Strong Weekend Growth
According to the latest estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk, earned Rs 2.50 crore on its first Sunday, marking its highest single-day collection since release. The film had opened with Rs 1.15 crore on Friday before witnessing significant growth on Saturday with collections of Rs 1.85 crore. Sunday’s performance further strengthened the film’s box office run, taking its total India net collection to Rs 5.50 crore after three days.
Main Vaapas Aaunga
The steady upward trend suggests that audiences have responded positively to the film’s emotional plot and performances. The growth from Friday to Sunday also indicates strong word-of-mouth support, which could help the film maintain momentum during the weekdays.
Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata Trails Behind
Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, on the other hand, also experienced growth during its opening weekend but remained behind Main Vaapas Aaunga in terms of overall earnings. Sacnilk reports that the film collected an estimated Rs 1.45 crore net on Sunday, matching its Saturday collections. The film had started its box office journey with a modest Rs 1 crore net on Friday before witnessing nearly 45 percent growth on Saturday. After three days, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’s total India net collection stands at Rs 4.25 crore.
In an attempt to boost footfalls and capitalise on positive audience feedback, the makers introduced a nationwide Buy One Get One ticket offer during the weekend. However, the strategy was not enough to help the film surpass Main Vaapas Aaunga‘s earnings.
Kangana Ranaut in Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata
So, with Rs 5.50 crore in its opening weekend compared to Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata‘s Rs 4.25 crore, Main Vaapas Aaunga has won the battle at the domestic box office so far.
