It is believed that at night, Mother Sharda herself resides in the temple and is worshipped, due to which the bells ring.
Belief related to Alha-Udal
Maihar Mata Temple is also associated with the brave warrior Alha-Udal. According to folklore, Allah is immortal even today and he first reaches the temple every day in Brahma Muhurta and worships Maa Sharda. It is said that when the temple priests open the doors in the morning, fresh flowers and marks of worship are found there, which adds further depth to this mystery.
Holy place situated on Trikuta mountain
This temple is situated on the height of Trikoot mountain, from where a wonderful view of the entire Maihar city is visible. Devotees can also reach the temple on foot, by stairs or via ropeway.
