Mahindra’s Charge_iN and HPCL collaborate to increase EV charging

New Delhi: Mahindra Group’s EV charging arm Charge_iN and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) on Friday announced a partnership to set electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS) at HPCL fuel stations across India. As per the press release, the partnership is set to leverage HPCL’s wide fuel station network to develop EV charging infrastructure.

The agreement is expected to enhance EV users’ experience and pace up EV adoption in India. Further, these charging stations will exclusively feature a 180 kW dual gun charger to deliver faster, more convenient and reliable charging for EV four-wheelers.

HPCL is one of India’s leading state-owned oil and gas corporations, operating more than 24,000 retail outlets nationwide and running more than 5,400 EV charging stations under the HP e-charge brand. Charge_iN by Mahindra is part of the brand’s vision to UNLIMIT electric mobility by making an ultrafast charging network.

This is something that aligns with the government’s vision of strengthening public EV charging facilities. With the EV market growing, of course, the charging facility needs a boost, and these types of initiatives work towards that only.
