The Mahindra Vision S concept-based sub-4 metre SUV is taking shape, and expected to debut by the end of this year. However, its market launch is likely to take place in the first half of 2027. It will be the first production-ready Vision SUV based on Mahindra’s NU_IQ monocoque modular platform, which is compatible with multiple powertrains including ICE (internal combustion engine), electric and hybrid.
Rumours & Reports
According to media reports, the production-ready Mahindra Vision S will join the Scorpio family, featuring rugged styling and an upright stance. Rumour also has it that the next-generation Mahindra Scorpio could be offered in both compact and subcompact forms.

Boxy & Tall Stance
The latest spy shots reveal that the Vision S will feature headlamps similar to the Thar, albeit with a different lighting signatures. The front fascia will look largely similar to the concept with Twin Peaks logo, a triplet of vertically stacked LEDs, sporty bumper with integrated radar unit and parking sensors at the lower section and pixel-shaped fog lamps.
Other design highlights might include thick cladding on the wheel arches and under the doors, 19-inch tyres with star-shaped wheels, red callipers and disc brakes, flush fitting door handles, inverted L taillights, and a spare wheel mounted on the tailgate. The production model is likely to miss out on the roof-mounted lights, bonnet integrated limb risers, a jerry can and a stepladder.
Interior Revealed in Spy Images
The spy shots suggest that the dashboard and centre console design will be largely similar to the concept. The SUV will feature a conventional-looking gear level, an analogue instrument console with a small MID (multi-information display), manually adjustable AC dials and fabric seat upholstery. Higher trims are expected to be offered advanced connectivity, comfort and safety features.
Multiple Engine Options
The production-ready Mahindra Vision S could be offered with petrol and diesel engine options. Mahindra might use the XUV 3XO’s 1.5L, four-cylinder diesel engine for this new sub-4 metre SUV. Details on the petrol and a possible hybrid powertrain are expected to be revealed closer to its official debut.
