Mahindra to launch new NU_IQ and INGLO based SUVs Globally from 2027

New Delhi: Mahindra & Mahindra is getting ready for one of its biggest global expansions. The company has said that a new line-up of SUVs and pickups will start reaching international markets from 2027. This plan was shared during its Investor Day on 20 November. For the first time, Mahindra will also enter several left-hand-drive (LHD) regions, including parts of Europe, while still growing in right-hand-drive (RHD) countries like India and other Asian markets.

The new international push will be based on two upcoming platforms: NU_IQ and INGLO. These platforms are being built to meet global rules for safety, emissions and software. Both can support petrol, diesel and electric systems, so Mahindra can make different versions of the same model depending on the country’s regulations. The company will begin this journey with compact SUVs and lifestyle-focused pickups, two segments that are becoming popular worldwide.

The INGLO platform will support Mahindra’s Born-Electric SUVs, while NU_IQ is meant for compact and midsize SUVs and future pickups. NU_IQ has some key numbers that Mahindra is highlighting: a 2665 mm wheelbase, 937 mm rear legroom, a 1563 mm seating point for a better view of the road, and a five-link rear suspension for better comfort. These measurements show Mahindra’s attempt to give more space and a more premium feel in categories where space is usually tight. The company says the new platform will offer better comfort, improved handling and more refinement compared to older ladder-frame models. Features like Level 2+ ADAS, connected interiors and off-road driving modes are also planned.

One of the concept models, called Vision.SXT has a tough and boxy design. It gets a flat bonnet with exposed latches, wide wheel arches, chunky tyres, a split grille with horizontal slats, and square headlamps with vertical LEDs. At the back, it continues the same theme with square tail-lamps, vertical light bars and a spare wheel mounted on the tailgate. The flatbed gives it more utility, blending lifestyle styling with practical use.

Mahindra says safety was a core focus while developing these platforms. NU_IQ vehicles are being made to target five-star ratings in Global NCAP, Euro NCAP and ANCAP. The company has filed more than 100 patents related to structure and crash safety, showing that engineering improvements were a priority.
