There was talk of stopping the train after 12 o’clock
Bachchu Kadu warned and said that if our demands are not met, the farmers will stop the trains after 12 noon today. On Tuesday, a large number of farmers had blocked National Highway-44 which connects Nagpur to Hyderabad. Farmers say that the government repeatedly gives assurances but till now no concrete steps have been taken for loan waiver and relief from drought. Bachchu Kadu further said, “Our demand is that the entire loan of the farmers should be waived off. Six thousand rupees should be given to the farmers for soybean crop and 20 percent bonus should be given on every crop. Bhavantar scheme is running for the farmers in Madhya Pradesh, but there is no such scheme in Maharashtra. Here the farmers are not even getting the full price of their crops. The Chief Minister does not have time to meet the farmers.”
He told that at present one to one and a half lakh farmers are involved in the movement, while about one lakh more farmers are coming towards Nagpur. The farmers’ organization says that until their demands are not accepted, the movement will continue like this.
