Heartbreaking incident in Chandrapur, Maharashtra. The son murdered his 65 year old mother just because she had prepared bitter gourd curry for dinner. The drunken son beat the mother so much that she died on the spot.
Chandrapur: A mother, worried about her son’s health, prepared bitter gourd vegetable, but little did she know that this vegetable would become the cause of his death. The matter is of Dongargaon in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra. Here a son got so angry over bitter gourd vegetable that he beat his 65 year old mother to death. The surprising thing is that even after the murder of his mother, his anger did not subside. He went to the kitchen, took out the pickle and sat down with two more pegs.
Police have arrested 37 year old accused Jagdish Petkule. His 65 year old mother Sumitra died tragically in the attack of this heartless son. It is being told that Jagdish had a severe addiction to alcohol, which ruined his life. He often used to beat his wife after drinking alcohol. Just two months ago, his wife, fed up with this daily beating, had gone to her parents’ house.
Jagdish was living with his mother for the last two months, but he had not stopped drinking alcohol. He would often come home drunk and fight with his mother. On Friday, February 20, Jagdish reached home drunk and asked for food from his mother. Mother Sumitra served food to her son without saying anything. But Jagdish got furious after seeing bitter gourd vegetable in the plate. He started shouting, “Why did you make bitter gourd vegetable? Who eats it? How should I eat this bitter vegetable?” Mother, trying to calm him down, said that there was no other vegetable in the house, so she prepared this. But Jagdish’s anger had reached its peak.
Murderous son pounces on mother
Jagdish threw the food plate in anger. He was already drunk. He got up from his place and directly attacked his mother. He punched his mother hard on her face and head and then kicked her. Mother Sumitra fell on the ground and died within a few minutes. Even after this the anger of this evil son did not cool down. There was nothing else in the house except bitter gourd curry, so he went to the kitchen, took out pickles and drank two more pegs of the remaining liquor. On receiving information, police reached the spot and arrested Jagdish. Police have sent Sumitra’s body for postmortem.
