When Tavallak asked those women about this fast, they told that she is doing a great fast named Mahalakshmi which is going to fulfill all the wishes. Tavallak decided to observe Mahalakshmi fast and tied the sutra (holy thread) in his hand and reached the king with water. When Raja saw the holy thread in Tavallak’s hand, he asked about him.
Tavalak told the whole thing to the king. The king also decided to fast Mahalakshmi and tied the holy thread in his hand. When Rani Padmavati saw this thread of the fast in the hand of the king, he asked about him. The king told the queen the whole thing. Due to ignorance, the queen broke the formula from the king’s hand and put it in the fire. The king got angry and gave up the queen and sent her to the forest.
Rani started wandering around in the forest due to insulting Mahalakshmi. Then one day the queen saw the sage Vasistha. The queen told them the whole thing. Then at the behest of sage Vasistha, Rani Padmavati fasted Mahalakshmi, which made her mind clean and peaceful. One day the king again came to hunting in that forest and reached the ashram of sage Vasistha and saw Rani Padmavati.
Here the sage Vasistha told the king that by fasting Mahalakshmi, the queen’s mind has become calm and pure. At the behest of Rishi Vasistha, King Mangalan Rani brought Padmavati again to the palace and started living happily. In this way, the devotee who observes Mahalakshmi fast, happiness, peace and prosperity remains in his life. Goddess Lakshmi also always maintains grace on her devotees.
