The makers of “Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha” have released the trailer of the upcoming mythological film, offering audiences a first detailed look at its portrayal of the Ramayan. The film features Dev Sharma as Shri Ram, Anjali Arora as Mata Sita and Rajniesh Duggall as Ravan, with the story focusing on devotion, duty, dignity and the conflict between dharma and adharma.

Trailer Highlights Major Episodes from the Ramayan

The newly released trailer brings together several familiar chapters from the epic, including the relationship between Shri Ram and Mata Sita, their years of vanvas, Sita Haran, Hanuman’s devotion and the eventual confrontation between Shri Ram and Ravan.

The central theme of the film is reflected in the line, “Adharm Ke Saamne Dharm Ka Naam, Shri Ram.” According to the makers, the narrative places dharma and maryada at the heart of Shri Ram’s journey and the choices he makes throughout the story.

Director Abhishek Singh on the Film’s Approach

Director Abhishek Singh said the team wanted to focus less on simply presenting familiar events and more on the emotions that audiences should take away from the story.

He explained that the filmmakers repeatedly returned to the Katha Bhav, the relationship between Shri Ram and Mata Sita, Hanuman’s bhakti, Lakshman’s kartavya and the maryada associated with Shri Ram. According to Singh, preserving these emotions was central to the way the story was developed for the screen.

Dev Sharma Talks About Playing Shri Ram

Dev Sharma, who portrays Shri Ram, said the character’s strength extends beyond his abilities and is reflected in his restraint, compassion, sense of duty and maryada.

The actor also spoke about the responsibility involved in portraying a revered figure. For Sharma, playing Shri Ram required an approach that recognised the significance the character holds for audiences. He said even the words “Jai Shri Ram” carry a sense of responsibility that reminded him of the values associated with the role.

Anjali Arora Focuses on Sita’s Inner Strength

Anjali Arora described Mata Sita’s unwavering resolve as the aspect of the character that connected with her most deeply. She said Sita’s gentleness and grace are accompanied by considerable inner strength.

According to Arora, the character continues to hold on to her dignity, faith and values even during difficult circumstances and periods of separation. She added that bringing this strength and dignity to the screen required sensitivity in her performance.

Rajniesh Duggall on the Character of Ravan

Rajniesh Duggall, who plays Ravan, highlighted the character’s knowledge, power and stature while pointing to his aham as a defining part of his downfall.

Duggall said Ravan’s story also represents an internal struggle that remains relevant to people. He described the conflict between dharma and adharma as one of the film’s significant themes.
