The NDA activist conference in Chakai, Jamui turned into an uproar with the clash of supporters of Sumit Kumar Singh and Sanjay Prasad. The police took over the situation, but the central leaders involved in the conference left the meeting.
Bihar Election 2025: The NDA worker conference held on Saturday in Chakai assembly constituency of Jamui district turned into an uproar when there was a fierce clash between supporters of Minister Sumit Kumar Singh and former MLC Sanjay Prasad. On seeing the welcoming of the leaders on the stage and the place started, the noise turned into a fight. A round of shock, kick and slogans started among the workers, which completely deteriorated the atmosphere of the conference.
The security personnel and the police force on the stage had to run to handle the situation. With great difficulty, the soldiers separated the two sides and took out the leaders safely. Union Minister Ramnath Thakur and senior JDU leader Shyam Rajak were present as the chief guests at the conference. But seeing the atmosphere of uproar on the stage, the two leaders did not think it appropriate to address the gathering and returned without giving a speech.

People present at the venue said that the dispute started when former MLC Sanjay Prasad started expressing resentment over something. Then Minister Sumit Kumar Singh stood up, which led to a debate on both sides. On seeing this, his supporters also got entangled with each other shouting slogans. This transformed the stage into the battlefield.
During this, LJP (Ram Vilas) leader Sanjay Mandal also appeared angry at not getting a place on the stage. He left the venue with his supporters. Former MLC Sanjay Prasad also left the conference with his supporters as soon as the central leaders returned. Although Minister Sumit Kumar Singh stood on the stage with his supporters and tried to continue the program, the disappointment among the workers was clearly seen amidst the deteriorating atmosphere.
Political experts say that Chakai assembly constituency is already politically sensitive. Former MLC Sanjay Prasad wants to field on the JDU ticket in the upcoming assembly elections, while the current MLA Sumit Kumar Singh has become a minister by supporting the government while being an independent. This is why political tussle has increased.
The police tried to normalize the program by controlling the situation, but the incident is raising serious questions on the solidarity of the NDA. The fighting at the conference also proved how the ambitions of the leaders and the sentiments of the supporters in the electoral atmosphere can go out of control.
