How to fast and worship on Maghi Purnima?
– Wake up early in the morning on Sunday, February 1 and take a bath in a holy river or pond. If this is not possible then you can take bath by mixing Ganga water in water at home.
– Install the idol or picture of Lord Vishnu in a clean place in the house during any auspicious time mentioned above. Light the lamp. Wear a garland of flowers and apply tilak.
– Keep offering things like Abir, Gulal, Roli, rice, Vasbha etc. to God one by one. Offer it to God as per your wish and keep basil leaves in it.
– While worshiping, keep chanting the mantra Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevay Namah. At the end, do the Aarti of God. If you have any desire in your mind then you can also express it.
– Keep fast on this day. If you are not able to do this then you can eat fruits once in a while. Break the fast the next day. This will bring happiness and prosperity in your life.
