The accident occurred when about 20-25 people from Ardala and Jamli villages were going in a trolley for immersion of statue. The tractor-trolley was standing on a culvert near a pond when her balance deteriorated and she overturned. Due to this, the people riding in it fell into the water.

Rescuers reached the spot after receiving information about the accident. 10 bodies were removed till Thursday night. Police said that the number of dead may increase. Many others are feared trapped. Many children are also included in the dead. Many people have been seriously injured. He has been admitted to Khandwa District Hospital.

SP Manoj Rai, who reached the spot, has confirmed the death of 10 people. Administrative officials are also present on the spot and are helping in rescue operations. Eyewitnesses reported that the trolley was more than capacity, due to which the accident occurred.

Two people died after tractor-trolley overturned in Chambal river in Ujjain

In a second incident, two people died after a tractor-trolley carried into the Chambal river carrying devotees during the Durga statue immersion in the Ingoria police station area of ​​Ujjain district on Thursday. Four others have been injured.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has expressed deep grief over this incident. He said in a post on X, “Accidents during Durga immersion in the Ingoria police station area near Jamli village of Khandwa and Ujjain are extremely tragic. I express my condolences to the bereaved families. The families of the deceased have been instructed to provide an ex-gratia amount of four lakh rupees and provide appropriate treatment of the injured in the close hospital. Am.”
