According to Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, a total relief of about Rs 1,802 crore has been given to 23,81,104 farmers affected by excessive rainfall, flood and yellow mosaic/insect (1623.51 crore crop loss compensation and 178.45 crore other disaster compensation). The government is dedicated to the farmers.
Bhopal : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that this year due to excessive rains and floods, farmers suffered huge losses to their crops. Along with this, yellow mosaic and insect infestation also affected the crops. Farmers had to face a lot of trouble due to loss of life, loss of animals and damage to houses due to rain. In such difficult circumstances, the state government has left no stone unturned in providing all possible support to the farmers.
Relief given to farmers affected by excessive rainfall/floods and pest infestation – total amount
The Chief Minister said that so far relief amount of about Rs 1,802 crore has been distributed to more than 23,81,104 (23 lakh 81 thousand 104) affected farmers of the state who are suffering from crop or house damage due to excessive rainfall, flood and insect/yellow mosaic.
This amount was given under RBC 6(4) and it has significantly helped the farmers in getting back on their feet.
The Chief Minister said that this amount of Rs 1,802 crore is almost three times more than the Rs 660.57 crore distributed in the last financial year 2024-25.
Detailed breakdown of relief amount
Relief amount of Rs 1,623.51 crore has been given to 23,81,104 affected farmers for crop loss due to excessive rainfall/floods and yellow mosaic/insect disease.
An additional amount of Rs 178.45 crore was distributed to compensate for other types of damages caused by natural disasters.
Overall, farmers affected by excessive rainfall/floods, yellow mosaic/pest disease and other natural disasters have received approximately Rs 1,802 crore as relief.
Assessment of relief given by the government in financial years
Relief amount of Rs 1,590.74 crore was distributed in the financial year 2021-22.
Relief of Rs 726.15 crore was given in the financial year 2022-23.
A relief amount of Rs 758.62 crore was given in the financial year 2023-24.
Relief worth Rs 660.57 crore was distributed during the financial year 2024-25 and the current distribution is much more than this.
Government’s commitment towards farmers
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that there is no shortage of funds in the government treasury for Annadata farmers. Every needy farmer of the state is getting support, cooperation and support from the government.
Be it excessive rains or floods, insect pests or any other natural calamity — farmers face the risk of crop loss in every season. Crop loss affects the year-round economy of the farmer and his family. In such circumstances, our government should not leave the farmers alone.
The Chief Minister made it clear that the state government is with the farmers in every difficulty and the plight of the farmers is the plight of the entire state. The prosperity of the state is possible only with the happiness and peace of the farmers and hence the government will never fall short in providing every necessary help and relief amount.
Other steps taken by the government for farmers
The government has provided sufficient water for irrigation.
Electricity facilities have been ensured to the farmers.
Agricultural loans are being provided at zero percent interest.
Minimum Support Price (MSP) is being implemented for crops and crop insurance amount is being transferred to the accounts of farmers on time. These steps have awakened new confidence and hope among the farmer brothers of the state.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the government is the government of farmers and prompt help will be ensured in all their difficulties. Timely distribution of relief funds and other benefits will continue to rehabilitate farmers and ensure their income security.
