Madhya Pradesh Cabinet: Approval of 0% crop loan and SDG scheme for farmers

Madhya Pradesh Cabinet: Madhya Pradesh Cabinet took major decisions like crop loans at zero percent interest for farmers, Sustainable Development Goals Assessment Scheme, increasing the number of beds in district hospitals, establishment of Malthon Court and land pricing.

Bhopal News: Bhopal: The meeting of the Council of Ministers under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav was held in Mantralaya on Thursday. The Council of Ministers gave approval to continue the scheme of providing short-term crop loans to farmers at zero percent interest rate through cooperative banks for the year 2025-26. The due date of Kharif 2025 season has been fixed as March 28, 2026 and the due date of Rabi 2025-26 season has been fixed as June 15, 2026.

Under the scheme, no interest will be charged on short-term crop loans up to Rs 3 lakh given by Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Societies (PACS) from farmers who repay the loan till the due date of Kharif and Rabi season. The state government will provide 1.5 percent normal interest subsidy to all farmers and 4 percent additional interest subsidy as incentive to those farmers who repay the loan till the prescribed due date. A target of distribution of Rs 23 thousand crore has been set in the current year.

Approval of SDG assessment plan

The Council of Ministers has decided to approve the “SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) Evaluation Plan” for the next 5 years (till 2025-30) for the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals in the state.

Under the scheme, localization, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of sustainable development goals will be ensured at the state, district and development block level. Ranking will be decided through a dashboard on the basis of sustainable development goals and their indicators of all the districts of the state. The prize money will be distributed to the two top performing districts as per the dashboard based ranking.

An annual provision of financial assistance of Rs 1 crore will be made to the district securing first position and Rs 75 lakh to the district securing second position. The selected district can use the award money to improve any of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, taking into account its specific needs. Those districts of the state whose performance in the ranking is weak will be included in the main stream of development with the help of the welfare schemes running in the state, which will be helpful in the overall development of the state. There will be an estimated expenditure of Rs 19 crore 10 lakh (3 crore 82 lakh per year) on the scheme.

It is noteworthy that under the plan Sustainable Development Goals, which are also called Global Goals, 17 international goals have been set by the United Nations in the year 2015 till the year 2030. The objective of Sustainable Development Goals is to establish social, economic and environmental balance. In this context, the “Developed Madhya Pradesh @ 2047 Vision Document” prepared by the Madhya Pradesh government presents a concrete outline for the long-term development of the state. “The SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) assessment plan will be helpful in building a developed Madhya Pradesh and a developed India.

Approval of upgradation of number of beds in hospitals and creation of new posts

The Council of Ministers approved the upgrade of 800 beds in the district hospitals Tikamgarh, Neemuch, Singrauli, Sheopur and Dindori and 810 new posts for the operation of the hospitals. In this, 543 regular, 04 contractual and 263 posts have been approved through outsourcing agency. Annual expenditure on creation of posts of Rs 39 crore 50 lakh was also approved. As per the approval, the number of beds in District Hospital Tikamgarh has been increased from 300 to 500, in Neemuch from 200 to 400, in Singrauli from 200 to 400, in Sheopur from 200 to 300 and in District Hospital Dindauri the number of beds has been increased from 100 to 200.

Establishment of Malthon Junior Division Court and approval of new post

It has been decided by the Council of Ministers to create a total of 7 new posts of Registrar High Court, Sagar, Judicial District of Madhya Pradesh Jabalpur, one new post of Behavioral Judge, one junior division level and 6 posts of class III and IV under their staff in Malthon Tehsil of Sagar, Judicial District of Madhya Pradesh Jabalpur.

Decision to fix the reserve price of the plot for disposal at 100 percent of the area as per Collector Guideline.

It has been decided by the Council of Ministers to fix the reserve price of the plot for disposal at 100 per cent of the area as per the collector guidelines. This will generate more revenue for the state government. According to the decision, by amending paragraph 10.11 of the Densification Policy 2022, change in the determination of offset price was approved. Earlier the offset price was determined on 60% area and 100% collector guideline rate, now the offset price will be determined on 100% area and 100% collector guideline rate. This will make more money available for development works.
