Madhuri Dixit Reflects on Life as a Housewife in America After Marriage

Bollywood star Madhuri Dixit, known for her captivating performances and dance, underwent a significant life change after marrying Dr. Shriram Nene. The couple relocated to the United States, where Madhuri embraced her role as a housewife.

In a recent appearance on veteran actress Simi Garewal’s chat show, Madhuri opened up about her married life. She revealed that she would wake up at 5:30 AM to prepare breakfast for her husband, who was then a cardiovascular surgeon. This early morning routine allowed him to head to the hospital for his scheduled surgeries.

Madhuri shared, “I enjoyed every moment of that life. I would wake up early to make breakfast, and after he left for work, I would go back to sleep for a little while.”

The actress married Dr. Nene on October 17, 1999, in Southern California and soon settled into domestic life in America. The couple welcomed their first son, Erin, in 2003, followed by their second son, Ryan, in 2005.

After taking a break from acting, Madhuri made her return to Bollywood in 2007 with the musical film “Aaja Nachle.” Since then, she has re-established her presence in both film and television. Most recently, she appeared in the OTT release “Maan Bahan.”

During her conversation with Simi, Madhuri also discussed what initially attracted her to Dr. Nene. Interestingly, he was not fully aware of her stardom when they first met, having not seen any of her films. Madhuri noted, “When you meet a partner, you find some common ground. He appreciated that I always try to help others.”
