Rajkummar Rao ’s gritty gangster drama ‘Maalik’ had a decent start at the box office. However, as it got closer to the second week, business saw a significant drop. Even during the weekend, the movie failed to impress, and the following week saw a further dip. Meanwhile, the debutant-led film – ‘Saiyaara,’ which released last Friday (July 18), enjoys reign at the box office. Within days of its release, the movie featuring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda has crossed the Rs 150 crore mark and is expected to make more by the end of its debut week.

According to Sacnilk, the movie opened with 3.75 crore on its first Friday, followed by earnings of Rs 5.25 crore each on Saturday and Sunday. However, as aforementioned, soon the numbers started dropping. The second weekend collection was close to Rs. 2 crore. Thereafter, the movie made Rs 33 lac each on Monday and Tuesday.
