Videos of missing decorative items outside the Rashtra Prerna Sthal inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday are becoming increasingly viral on social media.
VIP cutouts disappeared in the evening
To make the inauguration ceremony grand, life-size cutouts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were installed along the entire route. The situation changed as soon as the program was over and the VIP movement ended. There was a competition among the local people to take these cutouts home. Within a short time, many cutouts placed on the roadside disappeared and people were seen carrying them on their shoulders.

‘Looting’ of flower pots started at night
The real surprise was seen at night. The flower pots placed around the inauguration site to enhance beauty came under the radar of people. It is clearly visible in the viral video that some people are carrying huge pots on scooters and bikes. Seeing this scene, people on social media called it open looting of public property.

In Lucknow, which is known for its decorum and elegance, such incidents have disappointed the people. Social media users say that this kind of behavior is very unfortunate in a city which is known for its culture. Many people have called it a lack of civic responsibility.
Administration’s hard work wasted
Rashtra Prerna Sthal has been developed as a major tourist hub and source of inspiration. Before its inauguration, the horticulture department had specially ordered expensive plants and ornamental flowers. Now after these incidents, the hard work of the administration seems to be in vain. Police and concerned departments are investigating the matter on the basis of CCTV footage and are preparing to take action against those causing damage to public property.
