According to media reports, the loco pilot had undergone surgery for piles on 22 February. After the operation, he remained on leave from 22 to 28 February. But his wounds were not completely healed. After examination, the doctors clearly said that he needed more rest. As per the rules, the loco pilot demanded extension of leave from the health unit. He also showed the medical report, lab report and dressing to the officials. Despite this he was not given leave.

Took a surprising step out of compulsion

When his demand for leave was repeatedly rejected, the loco pilot adopted a unique and shocking method of protest. He took off his clothes and showed the wounds from the operation in front of the officers, to prove that he was really ill. It is being told that the video of this entire incident has also gone viral among the railway employees.

James told the news agency that it is extremely shameful that an employee has to go to this extent for leave. The union says that even when the medical report and doctor’s advice were available, it is wrong to stop the leave. He has demanded action against the concerned officer. After the intervention of the union, the loco pilot was finally discharged.

Railway administration’s silence

Till now, no official statement has come from the officials of Lucknow Division of Indian Railways on this matter. But resentment regarding this incident is clearly visible among the railway employees. Many employees say that if leave is not granted despite medical advice, it is against the rights of the employees.
