Inaugurating the second phase of the Green Corridor project in Lucknow, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that development is visible on the ground under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This 28 km long project will provide relief to about 15 lakh people from jam and will improve the connectivity of the city.
Lucknow. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday inaugurated the second phase of the ambitious Green Corridor project in Lucknow. On this occasion, he praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and said that development under his leadership is not limited to schemes or papers only, but is clearly visible in the lives of the people of the state. He said that this project will provide great relief to about 15 lakh people of Lucknow in transportation. The problem of traffic jam will reduce and people’s travel will become much easier than before. Rajnath Singh said that about 28 km long green corridor is being developed from IIM Road to Outer Ring Road. About Rs 7000 crore is being spent on this entire project.
Green corridor built with environmental protection
The Defense Minister said that special care was taken of the environment while making the Green Corridor project. More than 150 trees falling on this route were not cut, but were safely shifted to another place. He said that this step is a good example for environmental protection and protection of nature is equally important along with development.
Project completed with the cooperation of civil and defense
Rajnath Singh said that army land has also been used in this project. For this reason, there was a need for better coordination between the civil administration and the defense sector. He said there were some land-related challenges, but they were resolved through mutual cooperation. When civil and defense sectors work together, the pace of development increases manifold.
Along with the culture of Lucknow, development is also being discussed.
The Defense Minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, today Lucknow is in the news all over the world not only for its culture and culture but also for its rapid development. He said that when Indians living abroad come to Lucknow, they are surprised to see the development here. Even in foreign countries, people praise the development of Uttar Pradesh and Lucknow. He also informed that UNESCO has given the status of “Creative City of Gastronomy” to Lucknow, which reflects the rich food and cultural heritage of the city.

Rajnath Singh said that Uttar Pradesh is developing at a fast pace due to the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the double engine government under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He said that people also know Yogi Adityanath by the name of “Bulldozer Baba”. He freed the land from the occupation of mafia and criminals and started development work on that land. He said that the bulldozer not only removes illegal construction but also prepares new land for development.
Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway will increase connectivity
The Defense Minister said that soon the 62 km long Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway will be ready. After its completion, the distance from Lucknow to Kanpur can be covered in just 35 to 45 minutes. He said that this expressway will add a new chapter in the infrastructure development of Lucknow.
Employment opportunities from electric vehicles and defense corridor
Rajnath Singh said that Ashok Leyland’s electric vehicle plant has been established in Lucknow, which is providing employment to thousands of people and promoting environment-friendly transportation. Apart from this, Defense Corridor is also being developed in Uttar Pradesh, where many defense industries are being established. He said that now the integration and testing facility of BrahMos Aerospace will also be established in Uttar Pradesh.
Country’s security getting strengthened with BrahMos missile
The Defense Minister said that the world saw the power of BrahMos missile during Operation Sindoor. This missile caused major damage to the terrorist bases present in Pakistan. He said that now terrorists will think twice before attacking India. Lucknow is playing an important role in strengthening the security system of the country.
Focus also on cleanliness and modern urban development
Rajnath Singh said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is paying special attention to cleanliness and urban facilities along with development. A system for collecting garbage from every house has been implemented and the city’s sewage system is also being improved. He said that Lucknow has got third position in the country in Swachh Survekshan 2025.
Lucknow will be developed scientifically
The Defense Minister said that an MoU has also been signed between the School of Planning and Architecture and Lucknow Development Authority for the long-term development of Lucknow. Under this, the city will be developed in a scientific manner. Also, State Capital Region (SCR) is being developed in Lucknow on the lines of NCR.
Experience gained from foreign tour will accelerate development
Rajnath Singh said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had recently visited Singapore and Japan. He said that Yogi Adityanath went abroad also with his Indian identity and culture. The technology and experience gained from Japan will be used in urban planning and infrastructure development of Lucknow.
