British actor Lucien Laviscount has looked back on his journey as Alfie in the popular series Emily in Paris, recalling how a role initially planned for just two episodes eventually grew into a five-season stint and lasting friendships.
Laviscount took to Instagram and shared three pictures from the sets of the show’s final instalment, reflecting on the people he worked with and the unexpected length of his association with the series.
“I’ll never forget the moment I got the call from @starmandarren saying I’d be playing Alfie in @emilyinparis,” he wrote.
“My 2 episode stint, turned into 5 incredible seasons with this special group of talented people. I made friends for life on this project and as this chapter closes, I can’t wait to see the next chapter of everyone’s life and careers play out. Thank you @netflix but most of all, thank YOU for watching,” Laviscount added.
Emily in Paris stars Lily Collins as Emily Cooper, an American marketing executive who moves to Paris to offer an American perspective at a French marketing firm. The series follows her professional and personal experiences as she navigates work, relationships and friendships in the French capital.
The ensemble cast also includes Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, Camille Razat and William Abadie.
Laviscount began his career in 2002 with advertising campaigns before establishing himself on British television. He gained wider recognition after joining the cast of the teen drama Grange Hill in 2007 and later appeared in Coronation Street and Waterloo Road.
He subsequently featured in Skins and Shameless, followed by roles in Supernatural: Bloodlines and Episodes. In 2015, he played Earl Grey as a regular character in the first season of the horror-comedy series Scream Queens.
His other credits include the crime comedy-drama Snatch, based on the 2000 film of the same name, and Katy Keene, in which he played Alexander Cabot.
