Lorenzo Savadori will replace Jorge Martín at Aprilia Racing during the Spanish Grand Prix, after the Spaniard suffered an injury in Qatar.
The Italian rider, who knows the Andalusian circuit well, takes advantage of the opportunity to continue developing the RS-GP25 during a race weekend.
Aprilia Racing prepares for the fifth round of the season with a change in its structure, following Jorge Martín’s injury during the Qatar Grand Prix. Lorenzo Savadori has been called to replace the Spanish rider at the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto, the first European round of the championship.
For Savadori, this is an opportunity to continue the development work on the RS-GP25 in a racing environment. The Italian knows the Andalusian circuit well, where he has accumulated vast experience through testing and wild card appearances over the years.
‘My first thought goes to Jorge. I’m really sorry he can’t be at Jerez, and I hope he’ll be back soon,’ declared Savadori, showing solidarity with his injured teammate.
The Italian rider expressed enthusiasm about returning to Jerez: ‘Racing at Jerez is always special-it’s a track I know very well and where we’ve collected a lot of data over the years. I can’t wait to get on track: it will be a great opportunity to continue the development work on the RS-GP25 during a race weekend.’
‘We have several elements to test, especially since we couldn’t work as planned during the last private test at Misano due to the low temperatures,’ added Savadori. ‘I’ll give it my all, and our goal remains to keep improving the bike.’
